Description

A quick and delicious recipe for Fry Choy Sum with Beef, featuring tender beef sirloin and fresh choy sum stir-fried to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound choy sum, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Mix well and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil and the minced garlic. Stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the choy sum to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it starts to wilt.
  5. Pour in the beef broth and return the beef to the skillet. Stir everything together and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the beef is cooked through and the choy sum is tender.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced red chili peppers or a dash of chili oil during cooking.
  • Substitute choy sum with bok choy or spinach for a different flavor and texture.
