Description
A delicious twist on the classic BLT sandwich featuring garlic butter for added flavor.
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 8 slices sourdough, Texas toast, or country white bread
- 12 slices thick-cut bacon
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 8 leaves romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 4 slices cheddar, Swiss, or provolone cheese (optional)
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper to make the garlic butter.
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8–10 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
- Spread the garlic butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the bread butter-side down and toast for 2–3 minutes, until golden brown. Flip and lightly toast the other side for 1 minute.
- Spread mayonnaise (and Dijon mustard, if using) on the unbuttered side of four bread slices. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, 3 slices of bacon, and cheese (if using). Top with the remaining toasted bread slices.
- Slice each sandwich in half and serve immediately.
Notes
- Thick-cut bacon provides the best texture and flavor.
- Pat the tomato slices dry with paper towels to prevent the sandwich from becoming soggy.
- Add sliced avocado, fried eggs, or caramelized onions for extra richness.
- For a spicy twist, mix 1 teaspoon sriracha or chipotle mayo into the mayonnaise.
- Use fresh bakery bread for the crispiest, most flavorful sandwich.
