Description
A delicious and easy recipe for Garlic and Butter Flatbread that is perfect as a side dish or for wraps and sandwiches.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm water, Greek yogurt, and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and salt in a small bowl to prepare the garlic butter.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin oval or round, about ⅛-inch thick.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden spots appear and the bread is cooked through.
- Immediately brush each hot flatbread generously with the garlic butter.
- Serve warm as a side dish, or use it for wraps, sandwiches, or dipping into soups and sauces.
Notes
- For extra-soft flatbreads, stack them under a clean kitchen towel as they finish cooking. This traps the steam and keeps them tender.
