Description

A delicious and easy recipe for Garlic and Butter Flatbread that is perfect as a side dish or for wraps and sandwiches.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm water, Greek yogurt, and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and salt in a small bowl to prepare the garlic butter.
  6. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin oval or round, about ⅛-inch thick.
  7. Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for about 1–2 minutes per side, until golden spots appear and the bread is cooked through.
  8. Immediately brush each hot flatbread generously with the garlic butter.
  9. Serve warm as a side dish, or use it for wraps, sandwiches, or dipping into soups and sauces.

Notes

  • For extra-soft flatbreads, stack them under a clean kitchen towel as they finish cooking. This traps the steam and keeps them tender.
