Description

A rich and gooey German Chocolate Dump Cake layered with chocolate, coconut, and pecans, perfect for dessert lovers.

Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1½ cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1½ cups chopped pecans
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup milk chocolate chips
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, sliced into thin pats

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until smooth and pour into the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips evenly over the batter.
  4. In a bowl, mix sweetened condensed milk, coconut, pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon (if using). Spoon this mixture over the cake batter without stirring.
  5. Place thin slices of butter evenly across the top.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey.
  7. Allow the cake to cool for 15–20 minutes.
  8. Spoon warm servings into dessert bowls and top with optional garnishes like vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle, toasted pecans, and toasted coconut.

Notes

  • Ensure not to stir the coconut pecan layer into the batter for the best texture.
  • Serve warm for the best experience.
  • Can be garnished with various toppings based on preference.
