Description

A deliciously gooey chocolate cake infused with creamy peanut butter and topped with a rich peanut butter frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped peanut butter cups
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, for swirling
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, melted butter, and 1/2 cup peanut butter. Mix until a thick batter forms.
  3. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the chocolate chips and chopped peanut butter cups over the batter.
  5. Warm the remaining 1/2 cup peanut butter for about 15–20 seconds until smooth. Drizzle it over the top and gently swirl with a knife.
  6. Bake for 25–30 minutes. The edges should be set while the center remains soft and slightly gooey.
  7. While the cake bakes, beat together the peanut butter, powdered sugar, softened butter, vanilla, and milk until smooth and creamy.
  8. Spread or drizzle the peanut butter topping over the warm cake.
  9. Let the cake cool for 15–20 minutes before slicing.
  10. Serve warm for the ultimate gooey chocolate-peanut-butter experience.

Notes

  • Don’t overbake it. The center should still look slightly underdone when you remove it from the oven—it will continue setting as it cools.
