Description

Hamburger Green Bean Casserole is a comforting dish that combines ground beef, green beans, and creamy mushroom soup, topped with cheese and crispy onions.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) green beans, drained
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup French fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully cooked and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir in the cooked beef mixture and drained green beans until well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread it evenly and top with shredded cheddar cheese and French fried onions.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
  • You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • For a vegetarian version, replace the meat with cooked lentils and use a plant-based cream of mushroom soup.
