Description
Hamburger Green Bean Casserole is a comforting dish that combines ground beef, green beans, and creamy mushroom soup, topped with cheese and crispy onions.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) green beans, drained
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup French fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully cooked and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir in the cooked beef mixture and drained green beans until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread it evenly and top with shredded cheddar cheese and French fried onions.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the top is golden brown. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture.
- You can substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
- For a vegetarian version, replace the meat with cooked lentils and use a plant-based cream of mushroom soup.
