Description
A simple and healthy dish featuring ground beef and Chinese cabbage, perfect for a quick meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 6 cups chopped Chinese cabbage (napa cabbage)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp honey
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes, optional
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, optional
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add the onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped Chinese cabbage. Stir-fry for 4–6 minutes, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.
- In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and cabbage. Toss well and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve on its own for a lighter meal or over a small portion of steamed rice.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, increase the amount of red pepper flakes.
- This dish can be served with steamed rice for a more filling meal.
