Description
A comforting and easy-to-make dish featuring chicken, creamy sauce, stuffing, and green beans, all cooked together in a crockpot.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp dried parsley
- 1 (6 oz) box chicken-flavored stuffing mix
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed, or 2 (14.5 oz) cans green beans, drained
- ½ tsp salt, or to taste
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the slow cooker: Lightly grease the inside of a 6-quart crockpot with cooking spray or butter.
- Add the chicken: Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Make the creamy sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, sour cream, ½ cup chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and parsley.
- Cover the chicken: Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the chicken breasts.
- Add the green beans: Arrange the green beans around the chicken. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Prepare the stuffing: In a separate bowl, combine the stuffing mix, ½ cup chicken broth, and melted butter. Stir until the stuffing is evenly moistened.
- Layer the stuffing: Spread the stuffing mixture evenly over the chicken and green beans. Avoid stirring everything together.
- Slow cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 4–6 hours or HIGH for 2½–3½ hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Serve: Let it rest for about 5 minutes. Fluff the stuffing gently and serve with the creamy chicken and green beans.
Notes
- For extra flavor: Add ½ cup diced onion or sliced mushrooms to the creamy sauce.
- For crispy stuffing: Transfer the stuffing to an oven-safe dish and broil for 2–3 minutes after cooking, watching closely.
- For thicker sauce: Use only ¼ cup broth in the creamy mixture.
- For frozen green beans: Add them during the last 1–2 hours of cooking to prevent them from becoming too soft.
- Prep Time: 15 minutes
- Cook Time: 4-6 hours on LOW or 2.5-3.5 hours on HIGH
