Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for cream cheese layer)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cream cheese layer)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss sliced strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until creamy.
  4. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until just combined.
  5. Pour the strawberry mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries, then gently spread the cobbler batter over the top.
