Knock You Naked Bars are a delicious dessert combining a rich caramel filling with chocolate chips, all nestled between layers of cake mix dough.
Ingredients
- 1 box (15.25 oz / 432 g) yellow cake mix
- ½ cup butter, melted
- ⅓ cup evaporated milk
- ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 11 oz (312 g) individually wrapped caramels
- ⅓ cup evaporated milk (for caramel filling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, and ⅓ cup evaporated milk until a thick dough forms.
- Press half of the dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes. Remove from the oven.
- Meanwhile, melt the caramels with the remaining ⅓ cup evaporated milk in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the partially baked crust.
- Pour the warm caramel mixture evenly over the chocolate chips.
- Crumble the remaining cake dough over the caramel layer.
- Return to the oven and bake for 18–22 minutes, until the top is lightly golden.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars. For cleaner slices, refrigerate for about 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the caramels are melted thoroughly for a smooth filling.
- Refrigerating the bars helps in cutting them neatly.
