  • 1 large French bread loaf
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup black olives, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place it cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  3. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over both halves of the bread.
  4. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the diced bell peppers, sliced mushrooms, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and black olives. Season with oregano, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Mix well.
