Indulge in a sweet delight with Nutella Stuffed French Toast, a delicious breakfast treat that combines thick bread with creamy Nutella.
Ingredients
- 8 slices of thick bread (such as brioche or challah)
- 1 cup Nutella
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Fresh strawberries or bananas (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Spread about 2 tablespoons of Nutella on one side of each slice of bread. Top half of the slices with another slice of bread to create sandwiches.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated but not soaked.
- Place the dipped sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Add more butter as needed for cooking.
- Remove the French toast from the skillet and dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm with fresh strawberries or bananas if desired.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the egg mixture.
- Try substituting Nutella with peanut butter or almond butter for a different twist.
