Description

A delicious and creamy Pineapple Pecan Cheese Ball that combines the sweetness of pineapple with the crunch of pecans, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (8 ounces) crushed pineapple, thoroughly drained
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Assorted crackers for serving
  • Pretzels for serving
  • Celery sticks for serving
  • Carrot sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Drain the pineapple. Place the crushed pineapple in a fine-mesh strainer and press out as much juice as possible. For the best texture, pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. Mix the cream cheese. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the flavorings. Stir in the drained pineapple, shredded cheddar, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add 1/4 cup of the chopped pecans and mix until evenly combined.
  4. Shape the cheese ball. Transfer the mixture onto a large piece of plastic wrap. Gather the wrap around the mixture and shape it into a ball.
  5. Chill until firm. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the cheese ball is firm enough to handle.
  6. Coat with pecans. Spread the remaining 3/4 cup chopped pecans on a plate. Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and gently roll it in the pecans, pressing lightly so they stick to the surface.
  7. Serve. Place the cheese ball on a serving platter and arrange crackers, pretzels, or vegetable sticks around it. Let it sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before serving for easier spreading.

Notes

  • Drain the pineapple thoroughly for a firm, creamy cheese ball.
  • Use softened cream cheese to prevent lumps.
  • Toast the pecans for extra flavor.
  • Make it ahead and add the pecan coating shortly before serving.
  • Adjust the flavor with extra green onions or cheddar as desired.
