Description
A delightful Raspberry Cream Cheese Crescent Ring that combines the tangy flavor of raspberries with creamy cheese in a flaky pastry.
Ingredients
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup raspberry preserves
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries (optional topping)
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds (optional topping)
- Extra powdered sugar (optional topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Mix in the egg yolk, vanilla extract, flour, and lemon zest. Beat until everything is well combined.
- Separate the crescent dough into triangles. Arrange them in a circle on the prepared baking sheet, with the wide ends overlapping near the center and the pointed ends facing outward.
- Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the overlapping wide ends of the crescent dough, forming a ring.
- Spread the raspberry preserves over the cream cheese layer, keeping it away from the pointed ends.
- Bring each pointed end over the filling and tuck it underneath the inside edge of the ring.
- Bake for 23–25 minutes, or until the crescent pastry is puffed and golden brown.
- While the pastry cools slightly, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Allow the crescent ring to cool for 10–15 minutes, then drizzle the vanilla glaze generously over the top.
- Add fresh raspberries or sliced almonds if desired. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use softened cream cheese for a smooth filling.
- Choose thick raspberry preserves to prevent runniness.
- Avoid overfilling the crescent dough to prevent leaks.
- Leave some filling visible for a beautiful presentation.
- If the pastry browns too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
- Let the ring cool slightly before glazing.
