Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped jalapeños
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions
  • Optional: sliced black olives or candy eyes for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sausage, cream cheese, cheddar, pepper jack, jalapeños, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate into triangles. Cut each triangle in half if you want smaller snacks.
  5. Place a spoonful of the sausage mixture onto each piece of dough. Fold or roll the dough around the filling and pinch the edges closed.
  6. Arrange on the baking sheet and brush with beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Sprinkle with green onions and decorate with sliced olives or candy eyes if desired.
  9. Serve warm with ranch dressing, queso, or spicy dipping sauce.

Notes

  • These snacks can be made ahead of time and frozen before baking.
  • Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or fewer jalapeños.
