Description

Salmon Balls with Creamy Avocado Sauce are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or main dish, featuring tender salmon balls served with a rich and creamy avocado dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound canned salmon, drained and flaked
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, green onions, mayonnaise, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and dill (if using). Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the salmon balls in batches, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. For the creamy avocado sauce, mash the avocado in a bowl and mix in the Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Serve the salmon balls warm with a side of creamy avocado sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • If you’re looking for a healthier option, bake the salmon balls at 375°F for 20-25 minutes instead of frying.
