Description

Sausage Gravy Pizza is a delicious twist on traditional breakfast, combining savory sausage gravy with melted cheese on a crispy pizza crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 oz breakfast sausage
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups whole milk
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Place the pizza dough on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet or pizza pan.
  2. Cook the sausage: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook for 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Remove excess grease if needed.
  3. Make the gravy: Add butter to the skillet. Once melted, sprinkle in the flour and whisk for about 1 minute.
  4. Slowly pour in the milk while whisking constantly. Cook for 3–5 minutes, until thick and creamy.
  5. Season with black pepper, salt, and garlic powder. Stir in the cooked sausage.
  6. Assemble: Spread about 1–1½ cups sausage gravy over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar evenly over the gravy. Add Parmesan on top.
  8. Bake for 12–16 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with sliced green onions if desired. Let rest for 5 minutes, then slice and serve.
