Description

Sausage Gravy Quiche is a delicious and comforting dish that combines a savory quiche filled with breakfast sausage and cheese, topped with rich sausage gravy.

Ingredients

  • 1 refrigerated 9-inch pie crust
  • 8 oz breakfast sausage
  • ½ small onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 oz breakfast sausage (for gravy)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups whole milk (for gravy)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (for gravy)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper (for gravy)
  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder (for gravy)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges.
  2. Brown 8 oz sausage with the onion in a skillet over medium heat for 6–8 minutes. Drain excess grease.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage and cheddar cheese evenly into the pie crust. Pour the egg mixture over the top.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly soft. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  6. Cook 4 oz sausage in a skillet until browned. Add butter and stir until melted. Sprinkle in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  7. Gradually whisk in the milk. Cook for 4–6 minutes, stirring frequently, until thick and creamy. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  8. Slice the warm quiche and spoon the sausage gravy over each serving.

Notes

  • Let the quiche rest for 10 minutes before slicing to ensure it holds its shape.
  • Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated before serving.
