Description
A delicious and healthy side dish featuring sautéed asparagus and mushrooms, perfect for complementing any meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes, optional
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese, optional
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the mushrooms and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and their moisture has cooked off.
- Add the asparagus and sauté for 4–6 minutes, until tender-crisp.
- Stir in the garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
- Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
- Serve warm as a side dish with chicken, steak, or fish.
Notes
- For a vegan option, omit the butter and Parmesan cheese.
- Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
