Description

A creamy and tangy Southern-Style Coleslaw that is a must-try for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 cup purple cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1 cup carrots, grated
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the green cabbage, purple cabbage, and grated carrots. Toss them together until well mixed.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, celery seed, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Stir well to coat all the vegetables evenly with the dressing.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. For best results, chill for 2-3 hours.
  5. Before serving, give the coleslaw a good stir and adjust seasoning if necessary.

Notes

  • For a creamier texture, add an extra tablespoon of mayonnaise.
  • For a tangy twist, try adding a teaspoon of lemon juice or a dash of hot sauce.
