Ingredients
- 2 cups green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 cup purple cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 cup carrots, grated
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the green cabbage, purple cabbage, and grated carrots. Toss them together until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, Dijon mustard, celery seed, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
- Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture. Stir well to coat all the vegetables evenly with the dressing.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. For best results, chill for 2-3 hours.
- Before serving, give the coleslaw a good stir and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, add an extra tablespoon of mayonnaise.
- For a tangy twist, try adding a teaspoon of lemon juice or a dash of hot sauce.
