Description
Spinach Dip Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make party snack, featuring a creamy spinach filling baked in flaky pastry cups.
Ingredients
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 120 g frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed very dry
- 100 g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 60 g sour cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 package (about 400 g) refrigerated puff pastry or crescent roll dough
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 190°C. Lightly grease a 24-cup mini muffin tin.
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, spinach, mozzarella, Parmesan, sour cream, garlic, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Cut the puff pastry or crescent dough into approximately 24 small squares. Press one piece into each mini muffin cup, forming a small pastry cup.
- Spoon about 1 tablespoon of spinach dip into each pastry cup. Don’t overfill, as the cheese will bubble while baking.
- Brush the exposed pastry lightly with melted butter. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
- Let the bites cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before carefully removing them.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Squeeze the spinach very well—excess moisture can make the pastry soggy.
- Add chopped artichoke hearts for a spinach-artichoke version.
- For extra cheesiness, sprinkle a little mozzarella on top before baking.
- You can assemble them ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
