A delicious and hearty meatloaf made with ground beef, ground pork, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and bacon, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 6 slices)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, bacon, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

- For extra flavor, try adding chopped fresh herbs like parsley or basil to the meat mixture.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, and use low-fat cheese to reduce calories.
