Step-by-Step Instructions for Dark Chocolate Strawberry Jam
  1. Wash and hull about 2 cups of fresh strawberries, then chop them into small pieces.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine strawberries with 1 cup of sugar and heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
  3. Use a potato masher to mash the strawberries to your desired consistency and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of chopped dark chocolate and 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder until melted and incorporated.
  5. Mix in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and simmer for another 5 minutes.
