Ingredients

For the Tea Base
  • 1 cup Honey Natural sweetener
  • 2 medium Lemons Fresh, organic lemons preferred
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger Grated or finely chopped
For Serving
  • 4 cups Boiling Water Freshly boiled for best results

Equipment

  • Colander
  • Sterilized jar
  • Grater
  • Cup

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Start by placing the fresh lemons in a colander. Pour boiling water over them to remove any wax residue and then rinse them in cold water to cool.
  2. Once the lemons have cooled, cut them into quarters lengthwise, carefully removing any seeds. Then, slice the lemon quarters thinly.
  3. Take your fresh ginger and peel it carefully using a spoon or peeler. Then, grate or finely chop it.
  4. In a sterilized jar, start by layering half of the thin lemon slices and half of the grated ginger on the bottom. Drizzle half of the honey over this mixture.
  5. Repeat the layering with the remaining lemon slices and ginger, followed by the rest of the honey. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate overnight.
  6. When you're ready to enjoy, take the jar from the refrigerator and give it a shake or stir to mix everything up. In a cup, add a spoonful of the mixture and fill the cup with freshly boiled water.
  7. Allow the tea to steep for a few minutes. Taste and adjust with more honey or lemon if desired.
