Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium head of green cabbage chopped (about 6 cups)
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage, paprika, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
  5. Add the soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
