Step 1: Make the Dough
- Warm the whole milk in a saucepan until lukewarm, sprinkle yeast and let bloom for 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together yeast, beaten egg, and melted butter. Gradually mix in flour, sugar, and salt until a sticky dough forms.
Step 2: First Rise
- Transfer dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until doubled.
Step 3: Prepare Filling
- Combine pistachio butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl until smooth. Optionally fold in chopped pistachios.
Step 4: Shape the Rolls
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread filling, roll tightly, and slice into pieces.
Step 5: Second Rise
- Arrange rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30-45 minutes until puffy.
Step 6: Bake
- Preheat oven to 350°F and bake rolls for 23-30 minutes until golden brown.
Step 7: Make Icing
- Blend cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream until smooth.
Step 8: Ice & Serve
- Let rolls cool slightly, then ice while warm and serve with chopped pistachios if desired.
