Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add your lean ground beef and diced onion. Cook for 7-10 minutes, until browned and onion is translucent. Drain excess grease.
  3. In a large casserole dish, combine diced russet potatoes, green pepper, chopped dill pickles, and drained canned tomatoes. Mix until evenly distributed.
  4. Stir in the cooked beef and onion mixture along with the homemade special sauce until well combined. Pour over the vegetable mixture in the casserole dish.
  5. Sprinkle the white sesame seeds evenly over the casserole and gently mix to distribute.
  6. Cover the casserole dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  7. Remove from the oven, peel away the foil, and ensure potatoes are tender. Serve hot.
