Step-by-Step Instructions for Lemon Basil Hummus
  1. Begin by rinsing and draining one can of chickpeas in a colander. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  2. In your blender or food processor, add the prepared chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. Sprinkle in a pinch of salt.
  3. Gently pack a handful of fresh basil leaves on top of your blended mixture.
  4. Turn on your blender at a low speed, gradually adding water until it becomes a smooth consistency.
  5. Check the consistency of your hummus and add more water if a thinner texture is desired.
  6. Taste your hummus and adjust seasoning, adding more lemon juice or salt if necessary.
